Allen Thurber "Pepperbox" Six-Shot .36 Caliber Black Powder Manual Revolver - Vintage *1837-1847*

This is a used Allen Thurber antique pepperbox pistol chambered in 36 black powder. It features 3.1-inch barrels, engraved steel frame, and wood grips. Named for their resemblance to pepper grinders, pepperbox pistols have rotating cylinders with a separate barrel for each chamber, with bullets being muzzle-loaded. Holding several patents, Allen and Thurber pepperboxes were the most popular multi-shot pistols of the 1830s and 1840s. The Allen and Thurber iconic pepperbox 'revolving pistols' were often referred to as 'the gun that won the East". This pepperbox is marked "Pat-Pend 1837, Cast Steel, and Allen and Thurber CT." on the barrels. Overall, this Allen Thurber is in good used condition with age wear and patina. There is some surface rust on the barrel and overall metal components. Buy online today!
