This is a classic Springfield Armory M1 Garand rifle chambered in 30-06 Springfield. It features a 24-inch barrel, 8-round capacity, wing protected front sight, adjustable rear sight, bayonet lug, leather sling, and walnut stock. Overall, this Garand is in good vintage condition with normal cosmetic wear on the barrel and gas tube. The stock has handling marks and the handguard has a crack near the rear band. Bore condition is good with strong rifling. The barrel has a 42 date code, and was manufactured by Springfield Armory. There are no import marks on this rifle. A cartouche is visible on the left side of the stock and a "P" proof is present behind the trigger guard. Based on serial range, this rifle was manufactured in 1942.
