Rock Island Arsenal Model 1903 30-06 Rifle, Mismatch With 1931 Springfield Barrel - Collectible *1919*

This is a Rock Island Arsenal Model 1903 rifle chambered in 30-06 and manufactured in 1919. It features a 24-inch barrel manufactured by Springfield Armory in March, 1931. The Type C "Scant" stock is a later replacement. it has a "D1836" drawing number in front of the rear sling swivel and is marked in the cut-off recess "S C". The bolt appears to be a Springfield replacement marked "L" with a punch mark on the underside of the handle. The safety is marked "R" which indicates Remington. Overall condition is good; the bore is bright and shiny with strong rifling and there is only minimal wear to the metal finish. The stock is in nice original shape with some scuffs, dings, nicks and pressure marks. This would be a great addition to any US military rifle collection or for recreational target shooting.
