The Winchester Model 1873 was nicknamed “The Gun That Won the West” and was an instant success upon its release. The Model 1873’s immense popularity was largely due to the fact that it was chambered in popular handgun cartridges of the time, allowing the user to carry just one type of ammunition for both rifle and pistol.
