Australian Pattern 1907 Bayonet For SMLE By Wilkinson, Mangrovite Scabbard - Vintage Bayonet

This is an Australian Pattern 1907 Bayonet for the Short Magazine Lee–Enfield No.1 Mk.III (SMLE) rifle. It features a 17" blade and total length of 21.75", the ricasso is marked "1907" over a faintly marked "WILKINSON" along with various proof marks. The wood grips are numbered on the inside and left side panel is marked "AUSTRALIA" on the outside, with the grips removed the tang shows various proof marks. The scabbard is marked "MANGROVITE '43" indicating it was manufactured by Mangrovite Belting and the fittings are marked "OA" for Orange Arsenal. Overall condition of the bayonet is good with a slightly sharpened edge, there is a fair bit of wear, patina and some light pitting especially on the pommel. The scabbard is in nice shape with some patina to the fittings, the leather has some scuffs and scratches but strong stitching. Buy online today!
